Great venue for a
summer cookoff. With temperatures hitting 102,
everybody tried to keep their cool, and their chili
hot. The band kept us entertained all day with
some classic Rock & Roll. With temperatures
like this the Coors folks were busy all day at the
beer wagon. Kyle Haberman made everyone
breakfast burritos which disappeared quickly.
Channel 5 television out of Cheyenne interviewed
Kyle and Steve Lee about the cookoff and cookoff's
in general, the camera crew camped out in their
booths most of the day, even following them up to
the stage for turn-in, the segment was aired
Saturday night.
When all was said and
done, The Warriors of the Crimson Pepper picked up
1st in Green for the 2nd year in a row! We
also placed 2nd in Red and Showmanship - loosing a
tie breaker on both to Cheryl Rupp of Mom's chili.
Our thanks go out
wholeheartedly to all the folks involved in this
event. We would like to give a special thanks to Pepe's Pod. We know the amount of
work it takes to make a cookoff of this size a success,
and it's folks like you that make it happen.
