While a blanket of new fallen snow
rested on the ground and with the skies threatening
more, many Pod members braved the elements to cook
at Terry Bison Ranch, just over the state line, in
Wyoming. “Chili at the Ranch” proved to be a well
organized event put on by the Lions Club of
Cheyenne. They were well prepared when the skies
turned dark and snow started falling, by providing
an indoor event area. Cooks were treated to a
breakfast which featured French toast and made to
order Omelets. 25 cooks turned out, representing
Wyoming, Nebraska, and Colorado. With fires lit and
live music playing everyone was warm, both in spirit
and from some of the best Red and Green chili to be
had anywhere. When the day was over, almost $5,000
had been raised for the Lions Club’s “Lions for
Sight” project. As usual the Colorado pod was well
represented in the winner’s column. Special
congratulations go out to John Montgomery and Lyman
Wilkinson who received their final points to qualify
for Terlingua in November
